The 51st pick of last year’s NBA Draft, Mohamen Diawara served as one of the bench supports of the New York Knicks’ title season.
He played in 69 in all of New York’s 82 regular-season games, averaging 3.6 points and 1.4 rebounds in 9.2 minutes of play.
Per Ian Begley of SNY, Diawara was poised to earn significant interest from other teams in the league market. But the welcoming presence the French forward felt in New York since the start served as a key advantage for this eventual new deal hammered out by both sides.
Fresh from their championship-winning rally last NBA Playoffs, retaining Diawara served as the first move utilized by the Knicks in this important 2026 offseason.
