St Kilda’s Alix Tauru is facing a third multi-week suspension in barely a year, referred straight to the Tribunal for a heavy bump in the VFL.
The former top-10 pick elected to bump Footscray’s Stirling Phipps-Parsons, who lowered his body just before the hit, the resulting collision ending Bulldog’s day.

Tauru was charged with rough conduct with the incident graded as severe impact, high contact and careless conduct. He was referred directly to the Tribunal meaning a minimum three-week ban looms.
It would be the third time in 14 months Tauru’s behaviour has seen him suspended, following a four-game ban for a front-on bump last year, and a two-game ban for striking in May.
He also had a one-game ban for bumping in that May match downgraded to a fine.
The defender’s looming absence will compound the Saints’ injury woes with Jack Sinclair and Tom De Koning to be sidelined for extended periods.
