For over six decades, Fiji has travelled to Wales to play some unforgettable matches, but on 4 July it will be the first time we will be the home team.
With the UK playing host for our home Nations Championship matches this summer, Cardiff is set to become the home of Fijian rugby for one special day.
As a Fiji home match, the city will be transformed by the sights, sounds and spirit of the Pacific Islands.
From traditional warriors and cultural performers welcoming supporters on their journey to the stadium, to a vibrant Fan Zone packed with live music, authentic Fijian experiences and family entertainment, this will be unlike any other match day in Cardiff.
On The March to the Stadium
The journey to Cardiff City Stadium will be part of the spectacle.
As supporters make their way towards the ground, they will be welcomed by Fijian warriors in traditional dress lining the streets, creating a unique atmosphere worthy of the occasion.
Traditional Fijian dancers will also perform throughout the route, providing a cultural welcome and setting the tone for a big Fijian Summer Party.
Experience Fiji in the Fan Zone
Located just outside the stadium, the official Fan Zone will offer supporters the chance to immerse themselves in authentic Fijian culture before kick-off.
At the heart of the Fan Zone will be a traditional Fijian Village, complete with authentic Bures, the iconic thatched houses found across the islands.
Fans will have the opportunity to:
Receive temporary tribal tattoos from specialist artists
Create their own Fijian-inspired tote bags
Dress up in authentic Fijian costumes
Learn about Fiji’s islands, traditions and cultural practices
The Soundtrack to the Summer
The entertainment continues with a line-up featuring some of Fiji’s most celebrated musical talent.
Making the journey from Fiji to Cardiff will be:
Paradise Rootz – renowned for their blend of Pacific Island rhythms, reggae influences and soulful melodies.
Primanavia – Fiji’s award-winning choir, combining classical choral excellence with rich Pacific traditions.
Georgina Ledua – one of Fiji’s most beloved vocalists and songwriters.
They will be joined by DJ Kingsman, the UK’s leading Fijian DJ, who will keep the atmosphere building throughout the day.
Dress for the Occasion
Supporters are encouraged to embrace the spirit of the day and come dressed in their most colourful Bula shirts, Hawaiian shirts, grass skirts and Pacific-inspired outfits.
The best dressed fans will have the chance to win fantastic prizes, helping turn Cardiff into a sea of colour and the ultimate summer rugby party.
