BATHURST Regional Council’s ploy to monetise Mount Panorama has landed a taker.
The scheme was unveiled last October, making everyday advertising spaces available to buy in an effort to help the local community.
Upwards of $300,000 per year was outlined as an achievable outcome from the overall initiative.
As part of that, Enthusiast Motor Insurance has snapped up signage on Mountain Straight and at Skyline.
“To have our name standing on the Mountain: at Brock’s Skyline and on Mountain Straight is genuinely humbling,” said Enthusiast Motor Insurance CEO Stacy Vickers.
“We’re enthusiasts first, and this is the most famous piece of road in the country so it means a great deal.
“Our thanks to Bathurst Regional Council and to the local community for the warm welcome. We’re proud to be part of the Mountain’s story, and we’re here for the long haul.”
Bathurst mayor Robert Taylor welcomed the deal.
“Their investment in signage at the circuit is a strong show of support for both our motorsport precinct and the wider Bathurst community, and we thank them for their enthusiasm and commitment to the region,” he said.
Mount Panorama’s next major motorsport event is the Repco Bathurst 1000 in October.
