Hobart Road shared path coming together
The Northern Midlands Council is making progress on its new shared path along Hobart Road between Charbooday Drive and Kerry Lodge Bridge.
This is the first stage of the new path build, which will eventually meet up with the path from Breadalbane to the airport.

Launceston Council budget includes Margaret St upgrade
The Launceston City Council has passed an annual plan and budget for 2026–27 which includes $11.4 million for the reconstruction of Margaret Street, which is a key link in the city’s cycling network.
The annual plan says the upgrade will include construction of a separated bidirectional bike lane between Paterson and Frankland streets to provide a high-quality active transport link.
Margaret Street will also be the subject of a precinct plan to encourage more residential density once the infrastructure upgrades have occurred.
E-bike trial rides on offer at UTAS
University of Tasmania students will get the chance to ride an e-bike at Come and Try sessions being held in Launceston and Hobart in July.
UTAS students can register to attend the sessions at:
Sandy Bay tennis courts: Wednesday 8 July, 11.45 am – 1.15 pm
Inveresk basketball courts: Wednesday 15 July, 11.45 am – 1.15 pm
