Parkway Drive are going back to their roots with their newly announced Australian tour signalling they’re playing both debut album Killing With A Smile and sophomore release Horizons in full + the hits across the country via new promoter Live Nation.
Many fans (and critics) have been waiting for this day to arrive since the band’s massive 20th Anniversary Tour where they played their earliest tracks in medley form, leaving us craving more than just a nostalgia mashup.
The two Gold certified records launched Parkway Drive on a global scale and put Australian heavy music on the map following their releases in the mid-2000s. Eager fans have been begging for the band to play more songs from these eras what better way to revisit the OGs than with two nights in each city, one album per night + hits from their recent discography.
On the news, Winston shares:
“this idea kicked off when we started working on the KWAS [Killing With A Smile] medley for our last tour. Revisiting Killing With A Smile with a fresh perspective lit a spark that remained after we finished up, so we figured rather than let the spark die, let’s take it and create something special. For all the people who have waited to hear these songs live again, for all the people that never got the chance to see these two albums on stage, for ourselves reconnecting with the core energy at the heart of this band, this tour is for all of us. Some of these songs haven’t been played live in over a decade, some have never been played at all. You wanted it, now you got it, so let’s make this moment worth the wait.”
These small room shows are expected to sell out, so if you’re keen to relive the heaviness, jump on it.
