A Melbourne woman is missing after failing to return home from her trip to the United States.

Sally Grace Contarino was holidaying alone across the US before she seemingly vanished, sparking fears from her family back home.

The 26-year-old was reported missing by loved ones after they realised she had not boarded her scheduled flight home.

Ms Contarino’s family last heard from her on June 20, one day before her flight to Australia.

Recent photos put her last known whereabouts in the California and Nevada areas, with a picture of Ms Contarino in the small town of Mount Charleston, 60km east of Las Vegas being shared across social media and police channels.

Ms Contarino is described as slim, with fair skin, brown hair and brown eyes.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department opened a missing persons case in regards to the young woman’s disappearance, imploring anyone with information to come forward.

Police have also requested local hospitals be on alert, further asked to check their records for her potential admission.

The circumstances of her disappearance are not yet known.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade was unable to comment due to privacy concerns.
