a glamping landscape shaped by light timber structures

Trenchs Studio designs a glamping retreat for WeCamp hidden among the pines of a dehesa in Cádiz, southern Spain. Working as concept guardian alongside TEMATIC Arquitectura and landscape designer Valentina Greselin, the Barcelona-based design studio shapes light timber structures, earthy tones, and a pool deck threaded between the trees, letting the Andalusian forest set the pace of this contemporary glamping experience.

The project reinterprets the campsite as an exercise in restraint rather than spectacle, elevating the traditional camping experience through design, comfort, and a more conscious relationship with the landscape. The glamping development keeps its tent density deliberately low, letting vegetation and open ground absorb the built program rather than compete with it. The result is a place where time seems to move at a different pace, governed more by shifting light through the trees than by any architectural gesture.

communal spaces dissolve into the surrounding pine forest

For this project, Trenchs Studio acted as concept guardian, working alongside TEMATIC Arquitectura and landscape designer Valentina Greselin to define and consolidate the spatial identity of the WeCamp site. Trenchs Studio’s design brief extended across the communal areas, including reception, restaurant, and pool zone, as well as the different tent typologies, overseeing every interior design and furniture specification decision to ensure a coherent guest experience from arrival to departure. The communal areas are conceived as open, semi-outdoor structures where architecture and interior design dissolve into the surrounding pines.

Lightweight construction, natural materials, and a palette drawn directly from the site, in pale woods, earth tones, and soft greens, generate relaxed, welcoming atmospheres built for sharing, resting, and observing the forest. Exterior spaces are treated as extensions of the interiors. Timber slatted pergolas filter sunlight and blur the boundary between inside and out, while the reception and restaurant volumes unfold between the pine trunks, their dark green and taupe tones set deliberately against the shifting daylight and the natural colors already present on site. The pool area is organized as a sequence of linked basins joined by a single large deck that accommodates sunbathing zones, turning the water itself into another clearing within the woodland.

tents integrate built-in solutions and open forest views

Within the glamping tents, Trenchs Studio balances comfort with simplicity through a functional, unfussy interior layout in which built in solutions reinforce a sense of shelter. Large openings and lightweight enclosures keep the landscape constantly present, softening the line between interior and exterior. Chromatic continuity with the communal areas ties the tents back into their surroundings, while a composition of birch plywood panels, laid out like a large scale Mondrian and incorporating the brand’s color, adds identity and character to each unit.

Taken together, this Cádiz glamping project reflects WeCamp’s own philosophy of a more considered way of camping, centered on the quality of the experience rather than its scale. Through its role as concept guardian and lead interior designer, Trenchs Studio ensured a global coherence across disciplines, with architecture, interior design, and landscape working in dialogue rather than competition, producing a glamping retreat that does not impose itself on the dehesa, but adapts to it, offering guests a quiet, contemporary way back into the surrounding Andalusian nature.
