The Premiership Women’s Rugby (PWR) Final between Saracens Women and Trailfinders Women this Sunday will feature 11 Canadian players, including 10 who have earned international caps for Canada.

June 26, 2026 (London, England) – The Premiership Women’s Rugby (PWR) Final between Saracens Women and Trailfinders Women this Sunday will feature 11 Canadian players, including 10 who have earned international caps for Canada. Among them is PWR Player of the Year Olivia Apps, captain of Canada’s silver medal-winning team at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. 

Canadian rugby fans can watch the PWR Final live on YouTube on Sunday, June 28, at 7:00 a.m. PT / 10:00 a.m. ET. 

Saracens, who finished second in the regular-season standings with a 14-2 record, will feature six Canadians in their matchday squad: Olivia Apps, Alysha Corrigan, Sophie de Goede, Julia Omokhuale, Laetitia Royer and Gabrielle Senft. On the sidelines, Kevin Rouet serves as an assistant coach alongside Saracens Head Coach Alex Austerberry, who is also an assistant coach with Canada’s women’s national team.  

Trailfinders will feature five Canadians in their lineup: Maya Montiel, Claire Gallagher, Cassandra Tuffnail, Emma Taylor and Sally Williams. After finishing fourth in the regular-season standings, the Trailfinders advanced to the final by upsetting defending champions and top-seeded Gloucester-Hartpury in the semifinals.

Each of the Canadian players competing in their respective European league finals this weekend will be looking to secure a spot on Canada’s Women’s Rugby Team roster this October, when the team returns home for the first time since finishing as runners-up at the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025. 

The Rugby Rematch Tour, presented by Canadian Tire, will see the world No. 3-ranked Canadian women take on reigning world champions England in a two-match series this fall. The teams will meet on October 16 at BMO Field in Toronto before concluding the series on October 23 at TD Place in Ottawa.
