SHANE van Gisbergen has extended his glittering record at Sonoma Raceway with another win in the second-tier NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series.
Back aboard the #9 JR Motorsports Chevrolet for the third time in 2026, van Gisbergen converted pole position into victory at the California road course.
The 79-lap contest was dominated by van Gisbergen and his Trackhouse Cup teammate Connor Zilisch.
SVG’s margin hovered around four seconds in the closing stages but ended at just 1.324s, with best of the rest going to Brent Crews who won a hard-fought battle for third – albeit a further 13.913s adrift of Zilisch.
Jesse Love, who raced in Super2 last year at Adelaide, held third at one stage late in the piece before fading to ninth.

It’s van Gisbergen’s second NOAPS race win this year, having also got the job done at Circuit of the Americas.
The Kiwi’s Sonoma record in the NASCAR second-tier now reads three pole positions, two wins and a second place from three starts.
Tomorrow’s Cup Series race will be the first time van Gisbergen doesn’t start from pole at Sonoma; he qualified sixth in a spin-affected session.
Ty Gibbs will be on pole for the 5:30am Monday AEST race start.
