BRODIE Kostecki last weekend joined the list of drivers to have scored ATCC/Supercars Championship victory for the category’s most historic team.

Dick Johnson Racing headhunted Kostecki to lead them into a new era, and he repaid them in Townsville by converting pole position into a race win on the Friday.

That makes him the 13th into the DJR winners’ circle; now, it’s about seeing how high up the chain he will rise (see the full table below).

It’s also worth noting that Kostecki’s result equated to the first championship race win for the #38.

Prior to this year, the #38 had never recorded a result better than seventh (by Lawrie Nelson at 1979 Symmons Plains and by Bernie Stack at 1983 Adelaide International Raceway).
