Behind-the-scenes drama from The Bachelor franchise spilling over into real life? Through Nick Viall’s podcast of all places? Groundbreaking, truly. The former season-24 Bachelor lead, Peter Weber, or Pilot Pete to the initiated, took to the Instagram comments under The Viall Files to address his relationship with his then–Bachelor producer Julie LaPlaca. “I’ve moved on from this period of my life and I’m ultimately responsible for my choices,” he wrote.
LaPlaca is currently promoting her memoir, The Love Producer, out July 7, which seems to reveal details of the pair’s relationship during the filming of his season in 2019. She has called that period with Weber a “big catalyst” for her. Weber revealed he has asked for LaPlaca to keep the more intimate details of their relationship private. “This wasn’t about a TV show anymore,” he said on IG.
To further fan the flames, because at the end of the day, these are reality stars, Weber continued, “Curious though if she mentions in the book about my last one on one with Hannah Ann [Sluss], and how in the middle of our dinner conversation during one on one producer interviews, Julie tells me ‘you will look like the biggest idiot in the world to America if you give her your rose.’” Sure, that’s maybe not the greatest timing. Weber also called out former Bachelor host Chris Harrison for promoting (and writing the foreword to) LaPlaca’s memoir. “I find it wrong to mess with a person’s headspace like that and then go on to write a book about them. The fact that Chris endorsed this makes me sick,” he wrote. Well, the man has to keep busy somehow.
