Host said he hadn’t attended TV awards in some time. Photos said otherwise.

Former Breakfast TV host David Koch last week lashed out at the Logies for failing to nominate Sunrise in any category, given they dominate in TV ratings.

It wasn’t the first time he or the show took issue with the Logies.

Back in 2018 Seven complained about the cost of attending the Gold Coast event with Samantha Armytage, David Koch, Kylie Gillies and Larry Emdur all giving it the snub.

At the time Kochie told FIVEaa’s David and Wil it wasn’t the first time had skipped them but as TVT reported at the time, he was absolutely there in 2017.

“We’ve always scratched our head at how the Logies are decided and judged,” he added.

“The powers that be at Seven have said, well, not worth going this year. As I say, I haven’t been for a few years … I’m not missing much I don’t think.”

Not quite true, he was there last year as this photo (above) indicates.

“I think there is a place for the Logies,” Koch added. “But I think they’ve got to be a bit more transparent in how it’s all done and maybe have a rethink of how it goes.”

Yesterday Karl Stefanovic criticised his “boring” opposition for not attending, prompting Sam Armytage to respond “I agree @karlstefanovic we are boring. So boring you can’t stop talking about us on your show”.

Sunrise executive producer Michael Pell questioned Stefanovic’s own call to boycott the event, adding on social media, “The exercise is simply too costly for us in 2018.”

Seven is reportedly planning “a significant presence” at the Logies including every nominee.
