BYD Fang Cheng Bao flagship details emerged from road tests and fan art of the upcoming Tai 9 SUV, potentially named Ti 9 overseas. Newly leaked images of the FCB Ti 9 now reveal the group’s first continuous-screen layout across the dashboard console, according to Y-Auto. These spy shots provide the first unmasked look inside.
General Manager Xiong Tianbo confirmed the flagship model will launch in the second half of the year. The new interior layout marks a shift in the automaker’s dashboard design, introducing the vehicle to the full-size family SUV segment.
Cockpit and display
The horizontal continuous screen spans the centre console, merging the driver’s display, infotainment hub, and passenger screen. This configuration adopts a multi-display layout common in luxury family vehicles, replacing the independent floating touchscreens used in BYD models.
Spy shots indicate minimalist console lines beneath the protective black masking materials. Additional equipment upgrades include independent rear passenger entertainment displays paired with a Devialet audio system. These cabin configurations build upon structural tracking established during previous BYD FCB flagship teaser updates.
The full-size passenger cell accommodates five-, six-, and seven-seat cabin configurations. The third-row seating architecture folds flat into the floor pan to increase cargo storage space during transit.
BYD FCB Ti9 interior is rumoured to offer Devialet audio and flexible seating.
Powertrain and hardware
The vehicle uses a plug-in hybrid system pairing a 2.0T turbocharged engine with two electric motors, producing a combined output of 550 kW and 760 N·m of torque. Energy is stored in BYD’s second-generation Blade batteries, which support high-voltage flash charging.
This powertrain architecture follows a similar configuration to the BYD Great Tang crossover, which starts at 298,639 yuan (43,900 USD). Exterior features include split headlight clusters, hidden door handles, and retractable electric side steps.
Market delivery trends
In May 2026, the Fang Cheng Bao sub-brand logged total registrations across its lineup. The Ti 7 (also referred to as the Tai 7) led sales with 17,510 units delivered, accounting for 66.4% of the brand’s monthly volume, according to China EV DataTracker.
The rest of the brand’s lineup includes the compact Fang Cheng Bao Ti3 with 6,086 deliveries, the Bao 5 with 2,296 sales, and the Bao 8 SUV with 469 units. Collectively, these models secured a 1.7% share of the domestic market for the month as production scales up ahead of the flagship SUV’s official debut.
