The Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Core Ultra 5 250K CPUs just got a little more expensive.
Intel has raised the recommended pricing for its Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Core Ultra 5 250K Plus desktop processors, attributing the changes to rising supply chain costs and strong demand for the refreshed Arrow Lake lineup.
Intel is quietly adjusting the recommended customer prices (RCP) of its Core Ultra 200S Plus desktop lineup, namely the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Core Ultra 5 250K Plus. The latter now has a price range of $339 to $349, while the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus is listed between $219 and $229.
Upon unveiling the Core Ultra 200S Plus series as a refresh of its Arrow Lake desktop lineup back in March, original pricing started at $299 for the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and $199 for the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus. The new RCPs mark a price hike of $40 to $50 for the Core Ultra 7 model and $20 to $30 for the Core Ultra 5, depending on the specific variant.
According to a statement from Intel’s German press office, made to Hardwareluxx, the updated pricing reflects current market conditions, i.e., rising supply chain costs and robust demand for the Core Ultra 200S Plus lineup. The Core Ultra 7 270K Plus features 24 cores (8 performance cores and 16 efficiency cores), while the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus offers 18 cores (6 performance cores and 12 efficiency cores). Both chips use the LGA-1851 socket and support DDR5-7200 RAM.
