A popular Australian music festival has announced it will be taking a break this year.
Harvest Rock Festival, held in Adelaide, revealed on Friday the event will not return for 2026.
“Harvest Rock will be taking a fallow year in 2026,” a spokesperson wrote on Instagram.
“We know this will be disappointing news to many of you, but good things take time, and we’re already working on future plans.
“We appreciate the ongoing support of the South Australian Government in making the event a huge success to date, and we look forward to partying with you soon.”
The Adelaide festival had been rumoured to welcome a host of big names later this year.
LCD Soundsystem, Raye, The Cure, The Black Keys and Djo were just some of the acts fans were expecting to be announced as part of the line-up in 2026.
Fans were disappointed by the news as one person commented: “Not to be dramatic but this was the only thing I was looking forward to this year.”
“This is crushing news given that LCD Soundsystem and The Cure were rumoured to be playing,” another said.
This is not the first time the festival has been cancelled and in 2024, Harvest Rock organisers Secret Sounds abruptly cancelled the event before it returned last year.
A staggering 38,000 music lovers attended the festival at Rymill and King Rodney Parks last year.
Hard Rock Festival was headlined by New York rockers The Strokes and Jelly Roll last year.
Wolfmother, The War on Drugs, Vance Joy and M.I.A., were also on the line-up.
The Adelaide festival is not the first major festival to announce it will not return this year.
Aussie DJ Fisher postponed his Out 2 Lunch music festival, which was due to run from May 2 until May 10 across Melbourne, Gold Coast, Sydney and Perth, until 2027.
