For Kidd’s clients the brief was simple: a home that felt timeless, welcoming and deeply rooted in family life. Spanning around 5,500 square feet, the five-bedroom, six-bathroom residence is large in scale and Kidd admits one of the project’s main challenges was creating a sense of intimacy within such grand proportions. Originally built in the ’90s, previous owners had retained its traditional bones, but it had lost a lot of original character through updates over the years. “Our goal was to restore a sense of architectural integrity and permanence,” Kidd says, “the original floor plan, while generous, felt overly open and lacked moments of pause.”
