The Princess of Wales has released a heartwarming set of images of the moment she was met by Prince William and their children after she completed the gruelling Three Peaks Challenge.
Last weekend, Kate Middleton, 44, climbed the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours to raise money for The Royal Marsden Hospital, where she was treated for cancer in 2024.
On Sunday, the princess shared pictures of the moment her epic hike came to an end at the bottom of Mount Snowdon.
Prince William, 44, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, eight, were waiting for her, along with her parents Carole and Michael Middleton, and brother James.
“This time last week, completing the National Three Peaks Challenge. A huge thank you to everybody who has supported The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity,” the Instagram caption read.
In a change from their usual public appearances, the Waleses were dressed casually in blue jeans and trainers, while Kate was still wearing her hiking boots, red shorts, and a baseball cap.
The post included photographs of the princess being embraced by William and her children, as Charlotte appeared overcome with emotion and could be seen wiping away tears.
The sweet moment left royal fans feeling emotional, and thousands have taken to the comments with messages of support.
“Your daughter emotional has my heart. Such a down-to-earth inspiring family. When it’s your time without doubt you will lead with grace, honour, courage and conviction,” one person wrote.
“The one with Charlotte overcome with emotion!! My fave,” another added, while a third echoed: “Charlotte getting emotional over her mamma,” with a crying emoji.
A fourth person penned: “Oh my word, these have me in tears. I never thought we would see these photos…The pride and love that this family has for each other is just so beautiful. So moving.”
“That first picture of them hugging brought me to tears. Everything they’ve been through and are currently going through, all the gossip, all the battles they’ve faced- and yet their love continues to grow stronger. Why am I crying dammit,” commented a fifth.
Several others compared Kate to the late Princess Diana, with one writing: “The legacy of Diana, Princess of Wales, lives on through the Wales family and the values of compassion and empathy.”
Kate’s brother shared his own social media tribute on Sunday, saying he was “incredibly proud” of his sister and it had been an “honour” to have completed the challenge alongside her.
“Two years ago, I told you we’d climb this mountain together,” Middleton, 39, wrote alongside a photograph of the siblings hugging.
“We talked about climbing mountains while you were in hospital, and about the incredible healing power that nature can have for both the body and the mind…
“Seeing how far you’ve come is nothing short of inspiring. Your strength, resilience, and determination, all while being the most amazing mother, wife, daughter, and sister, inspire me and so many others every single day.
“Keep being exactly who you are,” he signed off.
Princess Kate revealed she was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer following abdominal surgery in 2024.
She underwent chemotherapy treatment and announced she was in remission at the start of 2025.
Speaking last week, Kate said she had completed the Three Peaks Challenge to “explore life beyond diagnosis and give something back”.
