After nearly a year away from the Formula 1 paddock, Christian Horner made a low-profile return during last weekend’s British Grand Prix, sparking fresh speculation about his future.

The former Red Bull team principal and CEO was dismissed shortly after the 2025 British Grand Prix, bringing an end to a hugely successful 20-year spell in charge. Laurent Mekies later took over the role, while a formal severance agreement between Horner and Red Bull was finalised in September 2025.

Since leaving the team, Horner has kept a relatively low profile within Formula 1. He has taken on an advisory position with London-based private equity firm Oakley Capital, worked on his memoir, and made appearances in both MotoGP and Formula E.
