The 27-year-old is being offered to Super League clubs, according to Love Rugby League, which is reporting the mutual option in his clause has not been activated by the Bulldogs.

This comes as Stephen Crichton and Lachlan Galvin have solidified their spot in the starting halves in recent weeks, while they have youngsters Alex Conti and Mitchell Woods coming through the ranks.

Sullivan has played for six NRL clubs, but hasn’t managed to play more than 30 first-grade games for any of them, as he’s often the deputy for the No. 1 halfback at the club.

He’s played 64 NRL games and is regarded as a future coach for his game smarts.

Hull FC could be an option after they gave their halfback, Aiden Sezer, permission to talk to other clubs despite having a year left on his current deal.

The York Knights and Huddersfield Giants are also possible homes for O’Sullivan if he’s to move abroad.

CLUB COMMENT ON LINKS TO NRL FORWARD

Super League club Leigh Leopards have addressed rumours of a possible return by Australian-born forward Kai O’Donnell.

The backrower came to the Leopards in 2022, having played just four NRL games for the Raiders, but quickly established himself as a fan favourite.

He went on to be part of the Challenge Cup-winning Leopards side before heading home to play for the North Queensland Cowboys.

The Leopards’ head coach Adrian Lam would love to have him back, but concedes the NRL might remain his home for the time being.

‘He’d be great to have here. I believe there are opportunities for him still in the NRL,’ Lam said.

“Anyone that’s available off-contract is always linked to Leigh Leopards.

“But Kai, obviously being a player from our Challenge Cup-winning era and being very close friends with a lot of our players, he’d be great to have here.”
