A 26-year-old man from Perth’s western suburbs has been charged with manslaughter following the death of a man near Fremantle’s entertainment strip in the early hours of yesterday. 

A man in his 60s was found unresponsive on South Terrace, near Douglas Street, a few hundred metres away from the port city’s renowned “Cappuccino Strip” around 2am.

He was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital but could not be saved.

Two men were arrested at the scene, with police charging one of them, a 26-year-old from Crawley, with manslaughter. 

He was refused bail and is due to face Perth Magistrate’s Court today.
