THE Seattle Seahawks have finally been sold for a record $9.6 billion.
An NFL rival part-owner is involved in the deal to buy the Super Bowl champions.

Vinod Khosla, 71, has led a group that has agreed to purchase the Seahawks.
Khosla is a limited partner of the San Francisco 49ers.

A deal was reached for the group to purchase the Super Bowl winners on Saturday, July 11.
It comes five months after the franchise was put up for sale.

The Seahawks were taken over by Jody Allen, 67, after the death of her brother Paul in 2018.
Interest in the Seahawks had also been reported from Boston Celtics minority owner Aditya Mittal and former Celtics governor Wyc Grousbeck.
Additionally, Chelsea owner Todd Boehly, 52, was also briefly considered as a potential investor.
Terms of the deal have not been officially disclosed, although a $9.612 billion price tag has been reported by ESPN.

This marks a record price paid for an NFL franchise.
Khosla is the founder of venture capital firm Khosla Ventures and is ranked as the 217th richest person in the world with a net worth of $13.7 billion, according to Forbes.
The billionaire purchased a 3.1 percent stake in the 49ers in 2025.
The deal will mean that the Khosla family will have to give up its stake in the 49ers.
Khosla has shared a statement announcing the move on behalf of his family.
“We are honored to be entrusted as the next stewards of the Seattle Seahawks,” Khosla said.
“We look forward to building on the winning legacy Paul Allen created and to earning the trust of the Seahawks organization and fans everywhere.”
A date in August has been given to the Seahawks’ owners for a special meeting to approve the deal.
