Golden High School is partnering with the Golden Youth Basketball Association for a Back-to-School camp at the high school on Aug. 5-7. Registration is now open for boys and girls of all skill levels.

The Golden High School basketball program is teaming up with the Golden Youth Basketball Association to host a Back-to-School Basketball Camp at the high school this August.
The three-day camp will feature Golden High School coaches and current players working with elementary and middle school players to teach basketball fundamentals, teamwork and sportsmanship, “while building relationships that strengthen our community’s basketball tradition,” said GYBA president Patrick Hart.
Registration costs $125 and is available to boys and girls of all skill levels. Grades 3 through 5 camps run Aug. 5-7 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., while grades 6 through 9 run Aug. 5-7 from noon to 2 p.m.
“For many of the younger participants, it is an opportunity to learn from and look up to the very athletes they hope to become one day,” Hart said. “The camp has become a unique way to connect generations of Golden basketball players while supporting local high school athletics and creating leadership opportunities for Golden’s student-athletes.”
Campers are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes early on the first day of camp, and to bring a basketball with their name on it and a water bottle. The camp is held in Golden High School’s main gym.
The Golden Youth Basketball Association’s website states:
“Golden Youth Basketball Association (GYBA) is a community-based, competitive, and committed basketball program for boys and girls from third grade to eighth grade. Our purpose is to provide a fun, rewarding experience designed to prepare young athletes to play basketball at a high skill level that ultimately contributes to the Golden High School basketball program. Our success is measured by individual skill and team development, as well as teaching personal development and life lessons that can be carried beyond the basketball court.”
