A man has been shot dead in Sydney’s north-west.
Shortly after 7am on Wednesday, emergency services were called to North Rocks Road in Carlingford following reports of a shooting.

‘Brazen attack’
Superintendent Marinello has commented on the nature of the shooting.
“It does seem to be a very brazen attack,” he said.
“Any public place shooting in NSW is something that is of concern to us and we will make sure we’re doing everything that we possibly can to identify and track down the offender or offenders for this matter.”

‘Investigating every possible angle’
Superintendent Marinello said police do not believe the man was shot in a case of mistaken identity.
He encouraged anyone with information to contact police.
“What I can tell the public is that we’re investigating every possible avenue that we can in relation to this matter,” he said.

Police found a man in aged in his 30s in a car with significant injuries.
He died at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.
NSW Police said the homicide squad was leading the investigation.
Officers from the Raptor Squad, which targets groups and individual members engaging in serious and organised crime, were also present at the scene.
A crime scene was established, with inquires ongoing.
North Rocks Road was closed in both directions at Carlingford, with the public asked to avoid the area and motorists advised to use alternative routes.
