Meghan Markle’s cooking reality series, With Love, Meghan, has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award, despite the show getting axed by Netflix earlier this year.
The program, which debuted in March 2025 and ran for two seasons with an additional Christmas special, was nominated on Tuesday in the Outstanding Lifestyle Program category, alongside shows such as Different Breed, George to the Rescue, The Motherhood and The Wizard of Paws.
The 44-year-old’s TV offering saw her invite high-profile guests, such as Chrissy Teigen and Mindy Kaling, to share stories, recipes, crafting ideas and tips on entertaining at home.
However, the nomination has left royal fans scratching their heads, with many noting that the show didn’t top Netflix’s ratings and was cancelled after its 17-episode run.
“Lemme get this straight. Her show failed to crack the top 100, and was not renewed by Netflix and yet she got an Emmy nomination? The math ain’t mathing here,” one person wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Another similarly chimed in: “‘Outstanding Lifestyle Program’. Is this a joke? It was universally panned and cancelled by Netflix?”
“Show was #1000 on the Netflix viewership list, the whole thing was top tier cringe, but now it’s nominated for an Emmy? For what, exactly? Oh that’s right, she showed us all how to use Ziplock bags & put flower sprinkles on toast,” a third added.
“How does this nomination process work? If you’re in the bottom 1,000, how do you get nominated?” another person questioned.
However, some X users were elated by the news, with one fan writing: “Well-deserved! A very sweet, soothing show.”
“This is literally the only reason I will watch the Emmys this year,” a second shared, while a third added: “Oh Duchess Meghan, the woman you are! Congratulations on your creative achievement! This was like your lovesong to all things cosy, yummy and beautiful! I’m so happy for you!!!”
According to an engagement report released by Netflix, With Love, Meghan’s first season ranked 383rd among Netflix’s most-watched shows with 5.3 million views in early 2025.
The second season failed to crack the platform’s top 1,000 most-watched titles, placing 1,224th between July and December 2025.
And its festive special, With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration, ranked 1,022nd overall.
An insider told People Magazine earlier this year that there are “currently no plans for a third season” of the show. However, future specials and other one-off projects have not been ruled out.
Regarding the decision, well-placed sources told journalist Paula Froelich that Netflix had “lost interest” in Meghan’s show after it “failed to gain real traction with viewers”.
