In 2022, council proposed building its own AWTF, which would treat liquid trade waste to be reused at the locations where it was sourced from namely: the new Baiada Processing Facility; the existing Teys beef; Thomas Foods International lamb processing facility; and Baiada’s existing Protein Recovery Facility adjacent to the proposed processing plant site.
