TEMPE, AZ – The Monmouth University men’s and women’s tennis teams earned awards as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced its end of the year academic awards Monday.
 
All seven members of the men’s team were named ITA Scholar Athletes while five members of the women’s team were honored as ITA Scholar-Athletes as well.
 
Additionally, for the 11th straight season, Monmouth men’s tennis was named an ITA All-Academic Team. For the second straight season the Monmouth women’s team was named an ITA All-Academic Team as well.
 
All ITA Scholar-Athletes must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
 
To be named an ITA-All Academic Team, a program must have a team grade point average of at least a 3.2 or higher. Also, teams must be listed on the institutional eligibility form and all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
