EREBUS Motorsport has turned to a former Supercars staffer to up the ante on its strength and conditioning.

The Dandenong South team has signed Stallion Strength Gym as its ‘official strength partner’, visiting the around-the-clock facility for their first training session yesterday.

Stallion is owned by Ben Eckstein, whose background includes having been a Kelly Racing crew member once upon a time.

“Having worked in Supercars previously, I know how physically demanding race weekends are and how much preparation goes into every pitstop,” he said.

“I’m looking forward to working with the team throughout the season, helping the crew build strength, improve performance and recover well so they can consistently perform at a high level.”

Erebus crew chief Kieron Woodger said: “Having a trainer like Ben, who is passionate about the sport and understands the physical demands of a pitstop, is a huge benefit for our crew.

“He knows the specific areas we need to target to improve our performance during pitstops, while also helping the team recover properly between race weekends.

“We’ve already been doing regular training sessions as the workshop, but now having access to a full equipped gym is going to be a massive benefit for the whole crew.”
