A young man has been rushed to hospital in a critical condition following a reported assault in Sydney’s south.
NSW Ambulance say they were called to John St at Kogarah Bay about 3.35pm on Thursday.
A man in his 20s has been assaulted and is in a critical condition, a spokesman said.
NSW Police told NewsWire an operation is underway on John St and they urged residents to avoid the area.
“Police remain on the scene,” a spokesman said.
Residents said on social media that roads have been blocked in the area around Brighton and John Streets due to an incident at an apartment building.
NSW Police are expected to provide an update on the incident soon.
