The Vowles Verdict: British GP (Williams)
James Vowles: ‘We brought parts to Silverstone. I would say right now what’s clear is our rate of bringing performance to the car, which is a little bit nuanced in how I mean that, is not at the rate required in order to move forward. And step one of all of that is to make sure that we take time to fully understand not just what we’ve done in Silverstone, but really what we have done across the entire season. All of them have clues and evidence as to what went well and what didn’t at the same time. How quickly we evaluate that, and typically I would expect that to be done within the next two weeks. Then defines what we do in Spa, what we do in Budapest, what we do across the remainder of the season and what we’re going into next year at the same time.’
Dries van Langendonck joins Verstappen Racing (Verstappen)
‘Fifteen-year-old Belgian motorsport talent Dries van Langendonck has joined the Verstappen Racing group. Dries will continue as a member of the McLaren Driver Development Programme, while receiving additional support and guidance from Max Verstappen and his management team as he progresses through the junior formula categories on his path towards Formula 1.’
F1 Lola T97/30 full running car (GP Cars 4 Sale)
‘The Lola T97/30 represents one of the most interesting and rare chapters in Formula 1 history. Built by the legendary British constructor Lola Cars, this car reflects the ambition of a manufacturer with decades of experience in Formula 1, IndyCar and Le Mans.’
Longer race could change strategies Sunday on Nashville oval (IndyCar)
‘There are a few new variables to this event, most significantly a 25 percent increase in race distance. Last year, drivers went 225 laps. Sunday, they’re scheduled to go 300 laps, which will require a strategy rethink given there will be at least one additional pit stop. The 400-mile event will be the series’ second-longest race of the season behind the Indianapolis 500.’
The historic Minard day celebrates its tenth anniversary (Minardi)
‘The tenth edition comes after a record breaking 2025 that drew more than 20,000 people, more than 700 participating cars and more than two million interactions on the social media channels, figures that bear witness to the event’s continual growth and the strong interest of the public in a now well-established format.’
