The Raiders hung on to beat the South Sydney Rabbitohs 34-24 at Canberra stadium, but lost Hudson Young to a suspected ruptured Achilles.
Raiders star Hudson Young was carried from the field after going down with a non-contact, left lower leg injury, confirmed by the Raiders as being a suspected Achilles rupture. That came after Melbourne revealed that winger Will Warbrick ruptured his Achilles tendon on Friday night and will undergo surgery early next week, ending his season and his Storm career.
Later, the second-placed Warriors welcome the Dragons to Auckland.
The day’s festivities end with the Bulldogs taking on the embattled Wests Tigers at the Sydney Olympic park.
In the NRLW, the Raiders host the Roosters, the Warriors host the Cowboys and the Bulldogs take on the Sharks.

FT: Raiders hang on to seal 34-24 win over Souths, but lose Young to Achilles injury
The Raiders have resisted a second-half Rabbitohs surge to claim a 34-24 victory in Canberra.
The Raiders were in complete control in the opening 40, scoring five tries to lead 28-6 at the break.
Kaeo Weekes scored twice, while Owen Pattie, Hudson Young and Noah Martin also scored in a dominant half.
However, in the second period, the Rabbitohs came home strong.
The Raiders conceded two quick tries at the start of the half to Alex Johnston and Cam Murray, but far more crucially lost talismanic forward Hudson Young to what Canberra’s medical staff believe is a ruptured Achilles.
The Rabbitohs kept the momentum their way, only for the impressive Jed Stuart to go the length of the field via an intercept to keep the Raiders ahead.
Cody Walker crossed for a controversial score as the Rabbitohs pushed for the win, a knock on in the build up missed by the referee.
But the Raiders were able to hang on to claim the valuable two competition points.
The Raiders have now won their third-straight game to keep their NRL season alive, sitting just two wins outside the eight with six games remaining.

80′ The Raiders defence holds firm!
And that might well be that.
The Viking clap goes up as the last 60 seconds are played out with the ball in the Rabbitoh’s hands.

79′ Rabbitohs knock on, but win challenge
Cody Walker throws a pass into the hands of Euan Aitkin, who then loses the ball does he?
Daine Laurie has his hands in there.
I’ll be honest, it looked forward out the hands to me, but that’s not what they’re looking at.
SOUTHS WIN THE CHALLENGE!
They have to replay the tackle, about 42 metres out from the Raiders line, third tackle of the set.

78′ Raiders kick to pin the Rabbitohs back
This has been great from the Raiders, Ethan Sanders kicking the ball deep and out 10 metres from the Rabbitohs line.
The Rabbitohs are making great inroads to the Raiders defence, Brandon Smith having some really good runs.

75′ THE RABBITOHS SET UP A GRANDSTAND FINISH! OR DO THEY?!
Good finish from Campbell Graham in the corner.
The Rabbitohs move the ball nicely out to the left side.
He steps inside and then bounces off two would-be tacklers to score.
Nice shift to the right.
Ethan Strange feels he was impeded by David Fifita though…
AND THE BUNKER IS GOING TO HAVE A LOOK!
AND THE BUNKER OVERRULES IT!
Tough one on David Fifita, who can’t really go anywhere as he raced in, but he clearly stopped Strange from sliding across to help his teammates to his left.
Big moment in this game though.

No rowing in Canberra, yet
Hello Simon, are we chanting ‘Row! Row! Row!’ yet?
– Mike
Not yet, surprisingly.
Although we’re a long way from the sea, to be fair.
That being said, the Raiders are rowing furiously to stay in this contest at the moment, despite leading by 10 points with six minutes remaining.

72′ PENALTY RAIDERS!
The Rabbitohs have been pinged at the scrum!
The Rabbitohs looked like they were just trying to contest the scrum, but the referee Wyatt Raymond said they can’t do that.
Does make you wander what the point of having a scrum at all is, to be honest…

72′ Weekes and Wighton knock on
Kaeo Weekes grabbed the ball in a contest on the Raiders try line.
He knocked it backwards in the air, into the hands of Jack Wighton, who knocks it on.
An escape for the Raiders there.

71′ BANG GOES BRANDON SMITH
HUGE HIT FROM SMITH!
Tom Starling, the 150-game man, takes a hospital pass over his shoulders and his monstered by the Rabbitohs hooker.
My word.
It’s ruled a knock on and the Rabbitohs will take the ball up field.

68′ Goal line drop out Raiders
Good kick from the Rabbitohs – and Jed Stuart makes a real meal out of it, eventually bundling it over the dead ball line.
The kick out is whacked as long as they can manage it.

66′ RABBITOHS SCORE, REFEREE MISSES KNOCK ON!
Brandon Smith races into the backfield.
Cody Walker is there in support and is pulled back is he?
The ball goes forward.
The Rabbitohs play on and Aitkin grabs the ball.
They recycle and it is Walker who dives over.
But hang on – there was a knock on there wasn’t there?
OH! It’s a clear knock on by Cody Walker! And the referee or Bunker can’t go back to look at it because it was the phase before the try was scored!
Oh that’s a huge error from the refereeing team and the Raiders fans are livid.
The kick is good and it’s 24-34.

63′ Raiders force Jack Wighton over the sideline
Jed Stuart is having a game!
Jack Wighton has the ball under his arm, he races towards the defensive line, but Stuart wraps him up and forces him over the sideline.
Momentum is swinging in favour of the Raiders at the moment.

58′ INTERCEPT RAIDERS!
The Rabbitohs have all the momentum.
The ball is in their hands, pressuring the line of the Raiders.
They move the ball to the right side but it hits the turf and Jed Stuart picks it up and races 85 metres up field to score.
Nobody was chasing him.
It’s a brilliant pick up too, one-handed using his hip to support the ball as he raced towards the line.
Ricky Stuart is overjoyed.
What a momentum-stealing score that was for the Raiders.
The Raiders have been under enormous pressure for the last 10 minutes or so, have just lost Hudson Young, and then they score.
The kick is good and it’s 34-18.

55′ Hudson Young is carried off
What has happened here?
Oh no.
He was all on his own, he’s pushed off trying to lead the defensive line, pushing off his left foot and something has gone ping.
Oh dear.
He lets out an exclamation of frustration that’s NSFW as he gets to the sideline, supported on either side by Raiders staff members.

53′ Penalty Raiders, PM booed
Jed Stuart makes an absolutely spectacular, brave catch racing back into his own 20.
Campbell Graham was racing back with him and felled the Raiders man.
The Prime Minister has seen enough, it seems, he’s off and is booed as he leaves. A famous Rabbitohs fan, in his Rabbitohs gear, so perhaps no surprise that he’s heckled.

50′ TRY RABBITOHS!
Off the back of the penalty, Cam Murray just bulldozes through the line, Hudson Young missing the tackle.
It’s a great start to the second half for the Rabbitohs!
Ashton Ward delivered the final pass to Murray, and he adds two extra points and it’s suddenly 28-18 all of a sudden.

50′ Penalty Rabbitohs
David Fifita charges into the defensive line of the Raiders like a bull, and is infringed.
A high shot.
