Another pole position for Kimi Antonelli, and by a commanding margin. We understand some broadcasters are claiming he got a tow from Verstappen on that final lap – well, the onboards suggest this clearly isn’t the case. Max was a distant speck in the final sector, and no way was a whisper of dirty air worth three tenths.
But Antonelli and Verstappen on the front row is a fascinating proposition – provided the Red Bull can get off the line cleanly. This is one track where the order at La Source isn’t necessarily the order at Les Combes, owing to the slipstream effect. Given the nature of the 2026 cars, in fact, it could all get quite messy.
