Video shows a furious Aussie berating a fellow tourist who was accused of littering at a popular Indonesian hiking spot.
Holidaymakers were taking in the sweeping views on a hiking trail at Indonesia’s Padar Island, near Bali, when a Chinese tourist allegedly threw his plastic water bottle on the ground this week.
An Aussie bystander then grabbed the bottle and gave the man a dressing down that was caught on camera.
“I don’t care, you saw the sign. This is beautiful, and you ruin it,” she says in the clip.
“Shameful. Shame on you. Don’t come back. I don’t care, don’t litter.”
The man tries to argue, asking, “Where are you from?” to which the bystander unhesitatingly replies, “Australia”.
Another woman steps in, telling the man: “Hey, you’re rude. You should go. No one likes you,” before he shambles off down the hiking path.
The Komodo National Park Authority said all visitors are briefed about littering before going on the Padar Island hike.
Staff would tighten supervision and remind tourists to maintain cleanliness at the park, the authority said.
Padar Island, accessed from Bali via Labuan Bajo, is globally renowned for its spectacular, panoramic hike.
Located in the heart of Indonesia’s Komodo National Park, the short 30 to 45-minute trek features roughly 800 concrete and wooden steps leading to a viewpoint that looks out over three crescent beaches.
