Matt Damon has flexed a secret about his ripped physique in The Odyssey – shouting out his female body double.

Damon, 55, gave credit where it was due after Happy Sad Confused podcast host Joshua Horowitz congratulated him on his acting, beard and “the greatest bicep” he had seen “outside of a Hemsworth” in the film.

Matt Damon is Odysseus in THE ODYSSEY, written, produced, and directed by Christopher Nolan.

While he was flattered by the compliment, Damon explained why his stuntwoman in a scene featuring giant warriors, the Laestrygonians, also deserved praise.

“My double was a woman, a female stunt performer – who had the greatest arms I’ve ever seen,” he said.

“And when she came into the catering tent it was the first time I met her, I went up and hugged her, and I thanked her for all the work she’d put in.

“There are those shots in the movie where you see these giants looming over me … so it was almost 100 per cent my arms in the movie, but you gotta give it up where it’s due.”

Stunt performer Devyn Dalton confirmed she was the performer he was referring to.

She reacted to the interview, commenting: “It was my honour to double @matt_damon_official.”

Dalton has dozens of stunt credits, including in The Last of Us, Scary Movie and Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

Damon has been open about the intense regime he implemented to get into shape to play Odysseus in Christopher Nolan’s latest epic.

He dropped gluten, “among other things”, and returned to his high school weight of 76 kilograms.

“It was more about just getting really, really physically fit, which just really involves changing your diet, just a whole lifestyle change,” Damon told People.

“You have to just be very, very intentional about everything you’re putting in your body.”
