New Zealand age group international Luke Supyk has signed a two-year contract with English club Gateshead.
Supyk (20) landed his deal with the fifth-tier National League club after scoring three goals during a pre-season trial.
His move to the United Kingdom follows his departure from A-League club Wellington Phoenix after the expiry of his three-year professional contract. He had previously been with the Phoenix academy.
Forward Supyk impressed during the trial, scoring in pre-season games against non-league sides Blyth Town, Heaton Stannington and Hebburn Town.

“I’ve had a few good games under the belt, and I’m just excited to get going for the season and meet all the fans,” Supyk told Gateshead’s website.
“I just tried working my hardest, obviously being a trialist, trying to earn a spot in the team.
“I’m buzzing for [the first game of the National League season], I can’t wait really. Pre-season games are all good, but the real edge starts when you’re playing a competitive game so I’m looking forward to that first game, definitely.”
Wellington-born Supyk played his youth football with South Island clubs Waimakariri United and Nomads United, before joining the Phoenix academy.
Supyk represented New Zealand at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile and was a member of the title-winning New Zealand side at the 2024 OFC U-19 Men’s Championship.
He made 11 appearances for the Phoenix first team, including one start.
Gateshead finished 18th in the 24-team National League last season but face their next season with new manager Lee Cattermole (38), a former England age group international who played 272 games in the English Premier League for teams including Wigan Athletic and Sunderland.
