ANDRÉ Heimgartner isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
In the latest official, albeit expected, piece of the Supercars silly season puzzle, Heimgartner has confirmed to V8 Sleuth that he has quietly extended his Brad Jones Racing contract.
The Kiwi initially joined the then-Holden squad in 2022 on a three-year deal.
Another two years were tacked on along the way, making 2026 the most recent expiry date made publicly available.
However, he’s now under lock-and-key through 2028, taking him unequivocally out of the market for the short term.
“I’ll be here for at least another couple of years,” Heimgartner told V8 Sleuth.
“I’m pretty loyal to Brad.
“Since I joined the team I always thought there was potential to do great things. We’ve got all the ingredients, it’s just the recipe we haven’t landed on yet.
“I feel like I’m only getting better in many respects and we showed in Tasmania that when I get put in a position where I can win, I can execute as good as anyone on the grid under immense pressure.
“I’m working as hard as I ever have and I feel like things are going in the right direction. It’s just one of those things where it doesn’t happen overnight.”

Heimgartner has taken over from his #8 predecessor Nick Percat as the top dog at BJR, and is responsible for its past two race wins: its only victory with Chevrolet at Taupō 2024, and its first with Toyota this May at Symmons Plains.
The 31-year-old has previously raced full-time in Supercars for Prodrive Racing Australia/Super Black, Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport and Kelly Racing/Kelly Grove Racing.
Teammate Cameron Hill joined BJR on a two-year deal through 2027, while Macauley Jones’ arrangement is thought to be year-by-year.
With Matt Stone Racing indicating both its drivers are signed for next season, that leaves just five drivers who figure to be not yet guaranteed a 2027 seat: Jones, David Reynolds, Aaron Cameron, Declan Fraser, and Cooper Murray.
