In Perth Sunrise is a religion, but in Sydney Today still nabs some wins.

If you live in Perth Sunrise isn’t just a breakfast habit, it’s a religion.

But if you live in Sydney Today is a more tempting option.

It’s no secret that Seven’s strength in Perth is a shot in the arm when it comes to national numbers. But TV is a democracy. A win is a win. Sunrise is nowhere near being toppled anytime soon (short of Today moving Todd Woodbridge to Breakfast, perhaps).

Looking at this week’s numbers (which were heavily impacted by that pesky FIFA World Cup final on Monday), Nine managed narrow wins in Sydney. Everywhere else it went Seven’s way.

The gap was closer in Melbourne and Brisbane than Adelaide and Perth where Nine frequently trailed ABC’s News Breakfast.

Similarly, Regional Australia wakes up with Sunrise.
