Dylan Lucas suffered a season-ending injury against the Roosters and was rushed to hospital.
The Newcastle Knights star has been one to watch for most of the year and was left “almost inconsolable” after the horror injury.

Coach Justin Holbrook confirmed Lucas sustained a dislocated ankle after landing awkwardly under a tackle from Siua Wong, allaying fears he had suffered a fractured.
Play was stopped for several minutes as the second-row received medical attention.
He appeared to be given oxygen and was taken off the pitch on the medicab, before being taken to hospital.
“It was bent in a way that it should not have been bent. This is terrible,” Dan Ginnane said on Fox League.
“He is almost inconsolable.”
Lucas could be ruled out for the remainder of the season, with the Knights also losing Dylan Brown to a possible ACL injury.
The incident caused distress with teammate Bradman Best putting his hands on his head.
“It was obviously terrible to see,” Newcastle teammate Fletcher Sharpe told Fox League at halftime.
“You never want to see one of your own go down like that.”
It is also another injury blow for Knights, who were missing Kalyn Ponga for the clash against the Roosters.
The fullback felt tightness in his quad but is expected to return next week.
Despite the knock backs, Newcastle battled from behind to lead the Roosters 16-10.
But they could not take full advantage as a second half comeback from the Roosters saw them regain the lead.
Knights levelled up before a sucker-punch with seconds left as Daly Cherry-Evans kicked a field goal to win it for the Roosters 23-22.
