Business leaders, government representatives, academics and members of the Cypriot diaspora will come together for the inaugural Australia–Cyprus Forum, founded by Peter Kitas, Founder of Onisilos Partners.

The forum was established by Mr Kitas to create a long-term platform dedicated to strengthening commercial, educational and strategic ties between Australia and Cyprus.

Presented by Business Sydney, the Cyprus Community of NSW, Onisilos Partners, and The Australian National University, the forum will showcase Cyprus as a gateway to Europe while highlighting Australia’s growing role as a trusted partner for investment, innovation and business collaboration.

The event will feature distinguished speakers from government, industry and academia, providing attendees with valuable insights into emerging opportunities across technology, investment, professional services, education and international trade.

Distinguished Speakers:

Demetris Skourides – Chief Scientist for Research, Innovation and Technology, Republic of Cyprus

Lia Riris – Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Invest Cyprus

Andreas Athinodorou – Chief Executive Officer, ATG Corporate Services

Eleni Tzioni – Founding Partner, Tzioni Law

Paul Lambis – Founder, Cyprus Diaspora Forum

The discussion will explore how businesses can leverage Cyprus as a strategic European hub while encouraging stronger collaboration between Australian and Cypriot organisations.

Founder of the Australia–Cyprus Forum and Founder of Onisilos Partners, Mr Kitas, said the initiative was created to transform the strong cultural and community ties between the two countries into practical opportunities.

“Australia and Cyprus share generations of friendship, culture and entrepreneurial spirit. I founded the Australia–Cyprus Forum to turn those connections into meaningful opportunities through investment, innovation, education and business collaboration,” he said.

“The vision is to build a lasting institution that connects governments, businesses, universities and the Australian Cypriot diaspora, while creating opportunities for future generations.”

President of the Cyprus Community of NSW, Michael Kyriakou, welcomed the initiative and its focus on building stronger bilateral relationships.

“The Australia–Cyprus Forum represents an important opportunity to strengthen the relationship between our two countries while creating new pathways for our business community and younger generations,” he said.

The inaugural event is expected to become an annual platform for dialogue and collaboration, supporting increased bilateral trade, investment, research partnerships and educational exchanges.
