Nanoleaf has unveiled its latest desktop-focused smart lighting product, the Smart Modular Monitor Stand, a collaboration with FANTAQI that combines ergonomic design, premium materials, and dynamic smart lighting in a single desktop accessory – with Matter support.
Designed to elevate both your monitor and your workspace, the stand features dual-flux lighting technology, offering a high-quality front-facing task light alongside an immersive rear ambient light capable of projecting colourful gradients onto the wall behind your display. The stand also integrates with Matter, allowing it to work with Apple Home and other major smart home platforms.
PREMIUM DESIGN
Unlike many monitor risers made from aluminium or plastic, the Smart Modular Monitor Stand uses a multi-layer solid wood construction finished with a natural walnut veneer. Nanoleaf says each unit undergoes an 800-grit hand-sanding process and meets ENF zero-formaldehyde environmental standards.
The stand measures 100 × 22.5 × 12.1cm and raises a monitor by approximately 12cm, providing what Nanoleaf describes as an optimal ergonomic viewing height.
Load capacity is equally impressive, supporting up to 28kg without the optional centre support column, increasing to 70kg when the support is installed, making it suitable for even the largest ultrawide displays.
DUAL-FLUX LIGHTING
The lighting system is divided into two independent zones:
A front-facing CRI97 task light producing up to 550 lumens with adjustable colour temperatures between 1700K and 6500K.
A rear-facing RGB lighting system delivering 480 lumens through a 160° wall-washing beam.
The RGB lighting includes 102 individually addressable LEDs, allowing smooth animated gradients and complex lighting effects using more than 16 million colours.
SMART FEATURES
Like many of Nanoleaf’s recent products, the monitor stand includes a range of entertainment-focused features.
Screen Mirror allows the rear lighting to extend colours from your display onto the surrounding wall, while Rhythm Music Visualiser synchronises lighting effects with music playback.
Touch-sensitive controls are integrated directly into the wood veneer, allowing users to turn the lights on or off, adjust brightness, and change scenes without opening an app. It’s not clear if these controls are exposed to Matter, however.
MODULAR EXPANSION
One of the more unusual aspects of the monitor stand is its modular design. The stand incorporates 23 universal 1/4-inch threaded mounting points, allowing users to attach accessories such as:
Cameras
Microphones
Lighting equipment
Mobile phone holders
Other compatible desktop accessories
This makes the stand particularly attractive for streamers, content creators, and anyone looking to consolidate desktop equipment.
MATTER SUPPORT
The Smart Modular Monitor Stand connects using 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Energy, and Thread, with Matter providing compatibility across multiple smart home ecosystems.
Supported platforms include:
Apple Home
Google Home
Amazon Alexa
Samsung SmartThings
Home Assistant
The Nanoleaf mobile and desktop apps
As with other Matter lighting products, integration into third-party ecosystems is expected to provide control over core lighting functions such as power, brightness, colour, and colour temperature, while advanced features including Screen Mirror, Rhythm effects, and animated Scenes remain available through the Nanoleaf app.
Firmware updates are delivered through the Nanoleaf app using Matter OTA support.

Although Nanoleaf is primarily known for decorative smart lighting, the Smart Modular Monitor Stand represents another move into desktop furniture with a product that combines practical ergonomics and premium construction with the company’s lighting expertise.
The inclusion of 102 addressable LEDs, high-CRI task lighting, and Matter compatibility should appeal to both productivity users and gamers, while the threaded accessory mounts add an element of flexibility that isn’t commonly found on monitor stands.
Perhaps most interesting from a smart home perspective is the inclusion of Thread alongside Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. While the product communicates using Matter, it remains to be seen exactly how Thread is utilised internally, and whether it serves purely as a Matter transport layer or has additional functions within the Nanoleaf ecosystem.
The Smart LED Monitor Stand is currently available to pre-order from Nanoleaf’s own store, priced at US$169.99.
