Sequel series to be set 20 years after a coming of age classic.

A TV series to return to Looking For Alibrandi is in development actor Anthony LaPaglia has revealed.

“They’re doing a series set 20 years later,” he told Stellar.

“Pia (Miranda) is doing it; she doesn’t age. I look so old now. I don’t know what sort of deal she made with the devil.”

The 2000 coming of age film was based on Melina Marchetta’s 1992 novel. Pia Miranda starred as a 17-year-old student navigating her final year at a Catholic girls’ school who clashes with her wealthy peers, single mother, and her strict Italian grandmother.

It won five AFI Awards including Best Film, Best Actress, and Adapted Screenplay.

Anthony LaPaglia also revealed he is unlikely to appear alongside his brother Jonathan anytime soon.

“Well, my brother went into reality television,” LaPaglia said..

“He did a couple of good performances here and there but he’s his own guy. We don’t really talk about it.”
