Seven TV boss Angus Ross is upbeat, and defensive, about Free to Air.
Returnable Seven managing director of television and streaming, Angus Ross, has given an interview to Mumbrella in which he canvases exiting and rejoining the network, the key executive team and audience numbers.
“The numbers don’t lie,” said Ross explaining how Seven executives are delivering improved ratings. “With breakfast we have never seen gaps like that [between Sunrise and Today]. All our sports numbers are up. Farmer Wants a Wife was up 30% this year.
“Across our key franchises you’re looking at numbers that are five-year highs. It shits me about when lazy people say free to air is dead. That makes us a bit of an outlier around the world in terms of free to air consumption.
“The streaming numbers are growing beyond anything we’ve seen.”
The interview also encompasses I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, AFL, Drama, The Chase and more.
He also flagged Seven’s remaining 2026 schedule:

Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games
2026 Rugby League World Cup
