REDCAR moved above Plymouth in the Cab Direct Championship standings with a 51-39 win over the Gladiators at the Ecco Arena.

The Bears are now fifth in the table, two points off the play-offs, although they have raced more matches than the teams immediately above them and will need points on the road to break into the top four.

Reserve Jody Scott starred for the home side with 14+2 from six rides, whilst skipper Charles Wright (10) won three races after conceding a 5-1 in Heat 1.

Joe Thompson impressed for the Gladiators with 10+2 and Danny King scored 10, but a weekend of three matches in three days ended with the Devon side unable to significantly boost their play-off hopes, with just an aggregate point over Berwick to show for it.
