Fenerbahce Istanbul have finalized their 2026-27 roster, closing an offseason that saw nine arrivals and 11 departures. BasketNews sources say the Turkish club is expected to maintain a player budget of nearly €17 million.

Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul have completed their roster for the 2026-27 season, BasketNews sources confirmed.

According to sources, the signing of Johnny Juzang was the club’s final move of the offseason, bringing an end to one of the busiest summers among EuroLeague teams.

Fenerbahce are expected to operate with a payroll similar to last season’s, when the club spent nearly €17 million on player salaries, per BasketNews sources.

Fenerbahce reshaped nearly their entire roster, adding nine new players while parting ways with 11 members of last year’s squad.

Key signings and departures

Only six players remained from the 2025-26 roster, including three members of the club’s 2025 EuroLeague championship team: Wade Baldwin, Nicolo Melli, and team captain Melih Mahmutoglu.

Despite the extensive turnover, Fenerbahce managed to retain three of their five stars in average minutes played last season: Baldwin, Talen Horton-Tucker, and Melli.

The Turkish champions also secured several key contract extensions. Horton-Tucker chose to remain with Fenerbahce despite holding an NBA exit clause, while both Baldwin and Melli agreed to new multi-year deals.

The club’s headline additions include Shane Larkin, Braxton Key, Shavon Shields, Will Clyburn, and Trent Forrest.

Notable departures include several players who played important roles in the club’s 2025 EuroLeague title run, including Devon Hall, Tarik Biberovic, Bonzie Colson, and Khem Birch.

Unexpected move

Biberovic’s departure proved very unexpected.

Sources say the Turkish international was firmly in Fenerbahce’s plans for the upcoming season before the Dallas Mavericks entered the picture and convinced him to move to the NBA.

His exit disrupted the club’s offseason strategy and ultimately contributed to Fenerbahce pursuing both Clyburn and Juzang to cover Biberovic’s absence.

Fenerbahce enters the new campaign after completing the domestic Triple Crown in Turkiye while also reaching the EuroLeague Final Four.
