Curious Perth theatre fans were handed a risque take on a classic fairytale last Friday as Throbbin Wood made its local premiere at Regal Theatre in Subiaco.

The raunchy adaptation of the beloved medieval tale welcomed audiences to the Got Wood forest, where golden phalluses, saucy dances sequences, and sexual innuendo ran rampant.

Throbbin Wood’s titular character was played by Charles Sherrington, who — alongside his band of Horny Men — starred opposite fair Maid Marian, played by Elethea Sartorelli

Zealous Productions producer Dixie Farinosi said the company was excited to bring its first-ever adult pantomime to Perth audiences.

“Throbbin’ Wood is unlike anything we’ve produced before — it’s cheeky, ridiculous and completely unapologetic,” she said.
