The much-anticipated release of NBA 2K27 is nearly here, as more details of the latest edition of the game come to light.

Following last week’s announcement of the three cover stars for the game, Victor Wembanyama, Caitlin Clark, and Derrick Rose, NBA 2K today dropped the official gameplay trailer, giving fans a look at the enhanced graphics, as well as a string of new features.

On first look, the trailer shows an improvement to player realism, smoother gameplay, and an overall higher-quality look and feel, but the standout is the first look at the players who moved teams in the off-season.

Headlined by Giannis Antetokounmpo in a Miami Heat uniform, Ja Morant on the Portland Trail Blazers, and of course, LeBron James as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers, the trailer serves as a hype up for not just the game, but the new NBA season.

Check out the trailer below.

Along with the release of the trailer, 2K also revealed a ton of updates and new features in the new game for MyPLAYER, MyTEAM, MyNBA, MyCAREER, and The City.

NBA 2K27 Updates

Gameplay

The trailer revealed the new shot contest feature, which uses AI to allow players to hold their positioning more effectively.

Additionally, the Dunk Meter has had a makeover from the static Dunk Meter in 2K26, now continuously evaluating defensive positioning as players take off all the way through to the finish.

MyPLAYER Builder

NBA 2K27 has expanded from 40 to 53 total badges, adding 19 new badges for more creative builds.

Cap Breakers are also making a return in NBA 2K27, with players able to preview attributes directly in MyPLAYER Builder, as opposed to having to enter The City.

MyTEAM

For the first time in the series, the Auction House will be unified across platforms, encompassing PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.

MyNBA

MyNBA will now include updated features to accurately resemble today’s NBA, such as the salary cap effects of the new Collective Bargaining Agreement’s second apron and the ability to include no-trade clauses in contracts.

MyCAREER & The City

In The City, players will find a new nighttime aesthetic, while maintaining the much-loved layout from NBA 2K26.

For streetball fans, this year’s game will also include the legendary New York City playground, Rucker Park, in the prelude of MyCAREER.

NBA 2K27 is now available for pre-order on PS5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC.
