Team CEO Barry Ryan has revealed Tremain will return to the squad following a two-year stint in IndyCar with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.
Tremain was crew chief for Erebus during its 2023 championship success before being elevated to team principal.
Ryan assumed those duties upon Tremain’s departure and described the Kiwi as a “critical guy” to have back on Erebus’ books.
“He’s knocked back on the door wanting to come back and Betty [Klimenko] and I have embraced him to lead the team again as team principal,” said Ryan.
“I’m really looking forward to it.
“Brad was with us from 2016 to 2024, so for him to go and get that two years experience overseas has been amazing for him I’m sure.
“He’ll come back with way more experience and ready to go.”
Tremain departed for America while Erebus underwent major changes at the end of 2024.
That famously included star driver Brodie Kostecki and race engineers George Commins and Tom Moore all heading for Dick Johnson Racing.

Erebus remains very much in a rebuilding phase.
Ryan’s short-term focus is on putting in a competitive showing at the Bathurst 1000, but said the ultimate goal is to return to championship contention.
“I liked ’23 better when we were competitive at every track, but those years don’t always come when you’re a team that gets poached [from] all the time,” he said.
“We can’t hide behind that. We’re a little team that got to the top and everybody tried to steal everybody off us.
“It’ll happen again, but we’re trying to build it back up. Hopefully we can get back up there.”
