Canterbury will kick off their residence at One NZ Stadium against old foes Auckland.
The two teams have a storied history – particularly at Lancaster Park.
Unlike those famous contests, neither side will have their All Blacks available on Saturday night, as the national team prepares for a four-test series with South Africa.
However, the match will feature the return of Canterbury’s Richie Mo’unga.
The former All Blacks playmaker has returned from a three-year stint in Japan and will make his return from the bench.
