THE Australian Auto-Sport Alliance has reiterated its ongoing commitment to competitors in the wake of the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series’ surprise rebranding.

Without warning, Hi-Tec was wiped from the platform’s website and social media, in favour of a new name: the AASA Race Series.

In response to a request for explanation, the AASA indicated promotion of the series has returned into their hands after being taken over last October by Hi-Tec Oils Motorsport Pty Ltd.

A sponsor has also been revealed for the upcoming Ipswich event.

“AASA has made the decision to bring back the series in-house and rebrand the championship as the AASA Race Series, with a continued commitment to its competitors,” said an AASA spokesperson.

“We thank Hi-Tec Oils for its support of the series over the last few seasons.

“Our exclusive insurance partners, Enthusiast Motor Insurance, will be in attendance as the round sponsor of the Fight In The Night at Queensland Raceway, August 14–16.

“We thank Enthusiast Motor Insurance for its support and we’re excited for what’s to come.”

Given the Hi-Tec sponsorship and AVE broadcast production have tended to go hand-in-hand, V8 Sleuth has sought clarification as to whether there will be any impact on the televising of action from QR.
