An AI chatbot has made a bizarre courtroom confession to a judge, admitting it told utter lies about a legal decision, would probably do it again and didn’t seem to care that the decision’s author was the same judge.
“I need to be completely upfront with you,” ChatGPT told Federal Circuit and Family Court judge Douglas Humphreys. “I completely fabricated those details.”
